SKILLS & competencies

As a visual problem solver I enjoy the challenge of each design project for my client, whether large or small, and believe being multi-disciplined, adaptive, collaborative, as well as having an entrepreneurial and marketing focus, has been key to my successful project outcomes.

I enjoy the process of generating concept sketches from briefs or brainstorming sessions, doing research and heading into design development and production.

Versatile, adaptive, cross-disciplinary design experience on all types and scope of project  - small to large - from print, web, digital, new media and for the built environment.

Staying relevant is crucial to my design work and as a design educator. I am continually advancing my software skills, design theory and practice with immersion in the world of  design trends.

I offer a unique viewpoint based on my hybrid project experience in graphic design and for the built environment.

A LITTLE HISTORY:  I got my start in design in Detroit working at Metro Times magazine, moving to Crain Communications soon after working on Detroit Monthly magazine. I worked for 10 years in San Diego, followed by a move to Florida, working in both Fort Lauderdale and then to St. Augustine for 10 years.

I am excited to be back in my hometown of Detroit and getting involved in the great creative and design community here and with the renewal and revivial of the city!
