As a visual problem solver I enjoy the challenge of each design project I work on, whether large or small, and believe being multi-disciplined, adaptive, and collaborative, as well as being hands-on with an entrepreneurial and marketing focus, has been key to my successful project outcomes.
I enjoy the process of generating concept sketches from briefs or brainstorming sessions, doing research and heading into design development and production.
Versatile, adaptive, cross-disciplinary design experience on all types and scope of project - small to large - from print, web, digital, new media and for the built environment.
A LITTLE HISTORY: I got my start in design in Detroit working at Metro Times magazine, moving to Crain Communications and Detroit Monthly magazine. I then spent 10 years in San Diego, followed by a move to Florida, (both Ft. Lauderdale and St. Augustine) working on many types
of design projects ranging from commercial interiors, environmental graphic design and signage projects, to yacht brochures, real estate marketing, publications, and more - usually incorporating my multi-disciplinary training in graphic design and the built environment.
I am excited to now be back in my hometown of Detroit and getting involved in the design community and the renewal of the city!
Staying relevant is crucial to my design work and as a design educator. I am continually advancing my software skills, design theory and practice with immersion in the world of current design and creativity.
I offer a unique design viewpoint based on my project experience in graphic design for print and new media, environmental and experiential design and interior design for commercial spaces.
